I had the pleasure of composing the main title theme for Nickelodeon’s new show “Top Elf”.

Created by Mike Duffy and Tim Duffy and directed by Michael Pearlman (‘Chopped‘, ‘Project Runway All Stars‘), this reality tv game show follows seven master artists, referred to as elf-testants as they attempt to put their extraordinary building and design skills to test. The one who wins the coveted title of Top Elf gets the opportunity to have a very special wish granted — not for his or her benefit but for the good of the community he/she resides in.

The first season of the show was warmly received.

“Top Elf” Season 1 premiered on November 29, 2019, on Nickelodeon and aired for 5 episodes till December 21, 2019.

“Aerial Circles – Circle One” is FINALLY OUT. It’s been a crazy journey with this one: I wrote these three instrumental pieces between 2012 and 2013, a very particular period of transition in my life as a musician and as a person. I am very attached to these compositions because in many ways they started my career as a composer for visual media, not only because they have been licensed across a multitude of media, but also because they helped me figure out who I was as an artist. My music since then has evolved in different directions, but this music will always have a special place in my bones and soul. “Aerial Circles – Circle One” is the first of 3 EPs that will be released in the next few months. Circle Two will include music from 2014-15 while Circle Three from 2016-17.

I had a lot of fun exploring the post-rock genre, combining its evocative textures with powerful cinematic melodies, hopefully making this series of albums unique in sound and atmospheres.

If you like artists like Explosions in the Sky, Hammock, Ludovico Einaudi, Max Ritcher, and film scores in general this album is for you. Thanks for listening and sharing!

IT’S FINALLY OUT! My album “Across All States” is available for streaming and purchase.

A huge thanks to Audio Network for the opportunity to write and record this album, to Omar Fadel for collaborating on a few tracks, Edoardo Tancredi for his mastery on drums, Isaiah Gage for his stellar cello playing, and Lacy Rostyak for her tasty solo on the track “At the End of the Day”. It was also a huge honor having the fantastic English Session Orchestra recording the most amazing strings at Abbey Road Studios and James Saez at The Audio Labs engineering some of the most tasty stuff on this album.

Last but not least, I’d like to dedicate this album to my dad which was a big influence in the musical journey that led to this music.

“Take a trip across all states with Dario Forzato’s dreamy Americana atmospheres. Featuring strings, dark acoustic guitars, charango, cello,  and powerful builds”

I am super-stoked to announce that I just started scoring my fourth feature film and this time there are no comedic elements whatsoever in the movie. More details coming soon but I just can tell that this film is going to thrill you and…. horrify you!!

Just got word my track “Splash” was licensed for the ad campaign of Missing Link starring Hugh Jackman and Zach Galifianakis. I remember having tons of fun writing and recording those grooves!

Many thanks to 411 Music Group for the placement!

I am happy to announce that Fly The Coop Studios will be moving to a new (really close) location! Bigger, better and…. cooler!

Having a blast scoring the comedy “It Hit You When You Know It”, written and produced by Elisa Manzini and directed by Devon Armstrong. This is gonna be a fun one!

“Nicole is a struggling writer who misses her ex boyfriend; Chris is a frustrated studio musician who misses his band; Mary is a married yoga instructor who misses some excitement; they’re best friends since high school and they get together to celebrate the wedding of another high school BFFE, Julia. Nicole brings some motivational books and a notepad, Chris his guitar and a bottle of Jack, Mary brings Ted, her workaholic husband. It’s all fun and games until Adam, Nicole’s ex, arrives with his new girlfriend, the exotic, young and clever Veronica, and the Pandora’s box is opened. Now Nicole wants Adam back, Chris wants to get drunk and Mary has a confession to make. While everything goes sour, their personal dramas must be put on hold when tragedy hits and the wedding is suddenly canceled.”

The documentary “The Advocates” by director Rémi Kessler and for which Dario co-wrote part of the score with fellow composer Omar Fadel will premiere at the LA Film Festival on September 22nd at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, CA.

‘The Advocates’ will also compete in the LA Muse category, a section dedicated to fiction and documentary films that capture the spirit of Los Angeles.

THE ADVOCATES is a sweeping look at the history and causes of Los Angeles current homeless crisis and an intimate view of the tireless work of advocates who strive to create better lives for their homeless clients.
